Matthew Epstein leverages expertise across multiple domains to deliver strategic clarity and actionable insight for corporate and investment clients. Globally-recognized as a creative problem solver and innovator, he draws upon a rare mix of experience in finance, energy and technology. Following a transformative engagement with Google, his current passion is in developing novel geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) applications utilizing data from synthetic aperture radar (SAR), high-resolution optical, and multi-spectral satellite signals. Furthermore, he works with technology providers and investors struggling to create and extract value from the proliferation of geospatial machine learning techniques and alternative data streams.
Mr. Epstein graduated summa cum laude and with high honors from Boston University with a BA and an MBA in 1992.
From 1992 thru 2006, he lead a distinguished career as an equity and commodity portfolio manager, trader, and research analyst at Citadel Investment Group, Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers and Salomon Brothers. From 2007 thru 2017, he founded and lead Aremet Energy, a boutique firm with clients including Schlumberger and Google. In 2018, he developed a geospatial data capability at Cowen, Inc. Most recently, Mr. Epstein launched a new, independent venture, Clearview Geospatial.
